This dish has become a staple for myself and Mr. Canuck Buck on the weekend. It isn’t super healthy but it’s very yummy and easy to make.
1. Chop up some potatoes or go the lazy route and use store bought hash browns. I freely admit I go the lazy route.
2. Pour a little olive into a pan, and then thrown in your hash browns/cut up potatoes.
3. While the hash browns are cooking, cut up a pear or an apple, as well some cheese.
4. When the hash browns are close to being done, thrown in the fruit and the cheese.
5. Stir the entire dish around until the cheese melts.
You now have awesome potato cheesy goodness. And the entire thing should definitely cost you less than 5 bucks.
What’s your favourite brunch dish?

Sounds like a tasty dish. Now that I’ve been buying apples all the time I’ll have to experiment with using them in cooking. I wouldn’t have thought of adding them to hashbrowns. I’m sure it adds some nice flavour though.
Interesting! I usually don’t like fruit mixed in with my savory food but that does sound pretty delicious. I loooove hashbrowns. My favorite brunch food has to be waffles. I love them.
Hmmm.. I use fruit in salad and in oatmeal and yogurt, but never thought to add in potatoes or hash browns. I love hash browns and fruit and cheese… so I’ll give this a shot!
MM – I ran out of pears, so I ended up using an apple. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Daisy – It really does taste very good. But I agree – waffles are pretty awesome.
FSS – I wouldn’t have thought of it myself – Got the idea from a dish I tried in Switzerland years ago.
